The most important thing to know about the owners and founders of Tate Management is that we love what we do — passionately. It’s from that we derive our success and success for our clients.
Tate Management was founded and is owned by Cristie and Bryan Tate, a partnership in business and in married life. The inception of the company actually started long before it was formed. After graduating from the engineering program at Montana State University, we recognized the wealth of experience and knowledge the working world had to offer. Therefore, we continued our professional journeys along similar paths in our different fields of engineering, Bryan in large commercial construction and Cristie in heavy civil design. We had incredible experiences working on challenging projects from California to Massachusetts . . . and many places between.
Those experiences in a wide array of projects and markets showed us both good and bad practices, and we took from them the knowledge of how best to manage, cooperate, and — ultimately — succeed. Perhaps the most essential lesson we learned was how the three interconnected relationships of a project are the basis of success: owner, designer, and contractor. Our professional experience showed us that this “three-legged stool” is the foundation of building success — and we found that this environment, this approach, is the one in which we thrive.

Ultimately, we recognized that our business model and professional strategy could and should aggregate these experiences under one roof. We had become fluent in all of the dialects of our industry, and it was apparent this was a service needed in a market that was not only our home, but that was becoming more and more sophisticated, and so Tate Management was born.
Basing Tate Management in Bozeman capitalizes on opportunities to build on a pre-existing network of professional associates, friends, and family, and has provided new opportunities with interesting and challenging projects. It has also returned us to the Montana community that celebrates values of fairness and professionalism that are paramount in how we conduct business.
